Tagging Instructions

The key to a successful Sweet Repeats is properly made tags - okay, so having
good quality clothes is helpful, too, but properly made tags allow everything to run
smoothly.

Yes, we understand that there are a lot of things to think about when tagging your
clothes and that some of the guidelines may seem unnecessary.  However, we
promise that there is a reason for EVERYTHING that we ask for.  There is also a
reason that we ask for all the information to be in a very specific place.  This will
be explained more later....

Supplies needed:

The 3 x 5in cards will probably be the smallest that you can find.  (Larger cards
are a hassle.)  Cut the 3 x 5 cards in half so that  the card size will be 3  x 2.5
inches.  This is for your benefit and our benefit - for you, a pack of 100 cards will
make 200 tags; for us - all the tags will be uniform and allow easy handling and
computer entry. You just wouldn't believe how much this speeds up our process!
You'll get your check quicker if all tags are made correctly!  We spend 3-4 days
sorting through improperly made tags, deciphering poor hand writing, and trying to
help you earn the most money possible!

1.  Decide whether this item can be reduced to 50% off on the last day of
sale, if so, write with blue or black ink.  If you do not want the item to
be reduced on 50% off day, then simply write the entire tag in red ink.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

2.   Allow room at the top of the card to place the safety pin.  Then, write a
brief but thorough description of the item.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

3.   In the middle of the tag, write the price.  Please use only .50 cent
      increments.  ($.50,  $1.00, $1.50, $2.00, $2.50, $3.00, etc... - $.75 is
      NOT an increment of $.50!)
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

4.   On the bottom left corner of the tag, write your ID number.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT??

5.   On the bottom right corner of the tag, write the size.  Please write the
number size and not just small, medium, or large. Sweet Repeats does not
accept any size larger than a child's 16.  No junior sizes.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

6.   Write your ID number only on a piece of masking tape.  Tape it inside
      the item.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION! You are almost done! If the item is a piece of
clothing continue to step 7.  If it is a toy, shoes, or furniture read special
instructions for these items below.

7.    Now, lay the item in front of you so that you are seeing the front.  Hang
       the item on a
metal hanger with the hanger hook facing and hooking left.
Place the tag on the right hand side of the item (If you were actually wearing
it, the tag would be on your left.  If you are looking at it, the tag is on the
         right.)
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
REMEMBER!!
The Sweet
Repeats sale in
Spring 2009 will
only accept
spring/summer
clothing. (
jeans
are accepted at
both sales
) All
other non-clothing
items are
accepted at both
sales.
NOTICE:

Sweet Repeats
requires that sales
tags be made on
index cards or card
stock.  No masking
tape labels, thin
paper, or plastic
bags should be used
as a sales tag.
These will NOT be
paid.

Masking tape should
only be used for the
additional ID number
label to be placed
inside the clothes.

To make this plain
and simple....

Put all pricing
information on an
Index card tag and
you'll be great!

Also, all clothing
must be on wire
hangers.  Clothes on
plastic hangers will
not be sold.
Correct Tagging and Hanging
Examples of properly made tags.  Note the placement of all the information.
This is how your items should look when on the hanger. Also, note how the jeans
are hung with large safety pens on the slanted part of the hanger!  This will help
the pants from sliding awkwardly to one side.
See the extra pieces in the ziploc
bag which is taped to the toy.  Also,
each ball is labeled with the ID
number.
Tags should be pinned or taped (with
packing tape) on the ziploc bags.
Remember to use a small piece of masking
tape with your ID # on each shoe. This helps
us match pairs that may have been
separated.  Do not just drop tag in bag.  If
shoes cannot fit into a ziploc bag, please
secure shoes together
 with a pin, strong string,
etc.
Special Instructions for Non-clothing items

Toys
** No stuffed animals will be allowed**
Follow the directions given above for making a tag.
Secure all loose pieces in a ziplock bag or similar container.
We suggest putting a piece of masking tape with your ID number on anything that might
become separated.  However, DO NOT PUT TWO INDEX CARD PRICE TAGS!
Making sure the item has new batteries will be very helpful in selling your item.  Otherwise,
people are will not know that the toy still works.
The index card is best secured with packing tape.

Unsold toys will not be returned, but instead will be donated immediately following the end
of     our public sale dates.
Large toys such as StepTwo, PowerWheels, etc...  will be
returned
.

Shoes
Follow the directions given above for making a tag.
Place a piece of masking tape with your ID number on both shoes.  Again, this is for your
protection!  You wouldn't believe how many times we are unable to sell a pair of shoes
because they've lost their tag and we do not know who to credit the sale to.  The masking
tape and ID number solve this problem easily.
Place the pair of shoes in a ziplock bag if possible.

Furniture and Large Toys
Follow the directions given above for making a tag.
DO NOT USE TWO PRICE TAGS!   With large items, shoppers will often remove the price
tag in order to pay without bringing the item through checkout.  A huge problem arises if
there are two tags- then two people may try to buy the same item.  You may put as many
piecesof masking tape ID numbers as you like, but use only ONE PRICE TAG!
Secure the tag on the item with packing tape.
